Context

lis-mini is a small service built without the intention of becoming universal or over-engineered. The goal was simple: test an idea and bring it to a working state with minimal friction.

The task

Build a service that:

  • solves a single, concrete problem
  • is easy to deploy
  • avoids architectural ballast

No premature optimization. No future-proofing for imaginary scale.

The approach

I deliberately chose a minimal stack and a clear structure. No microservices, no abstractions “for later”, no hidden complexity.

The main principle was simple: clarity beats scalability that is not yet needed.

Outcome

  • Fast implementation
  • Transparent logic
  • Easy maintenance

The project became a good reminder that sometimes the best architectural decision is not adding complexity.

Takeaway

Small projects are no less valuable than large ones. They sharpen a sense of measure — one of the most underrated engineering skills.
